The Rain Lake access point is at the western end of Rain Lake on Algonquin's west side. From Kearney on Highway 518, take Main Street and the Rain Lake Road, paved and then gravel, for 24.5 km. A ranger cabin stands at the access point, which is also the northern trailhead of the Western Uplands Backpacking Trail. Canoe routes head east along Rain Lake to Sawyer and Jubilee lakes, or through Casey Creek and Casey Lake to Daisy Lake and the Petawawa River, which leads to Little Misty and Misty lakes.
The difficulty of Rain Lake access point varies by section. Whitewater ratings are not exact: grades change with water level and season. Verify current conditions locally before you paddle.
