About

The Tim River access point is on the Tim River on Algonquin's west side. From Kearney, Highway 518 runs east 14.4 km to the Forestry Tower Road, which reaches the access point after 19 km. The river flows 2 km east to Tim Lake, then leaves it over the Tim Lake Dam and winds on through Rosebary Lake to Longbow Lake. This stretch is slow, meandering water with beaver dams to lift over and a 120 m portage around a set of falls. Other routes branch off to the upper Nipissing River and Loontail Creek, or through Shah Lake to Misty Lake.
