About

The Lac Granet - Outaouais Circuit (no. 73) is a 115 km loop in the northern part of Réserve faunique La Vérendrye, rated intermediate by Sépaq and planned for seven days and six nights. It starts on Lac Granet, a launch about 15 km from Route 117, and Sépaq recommends a counterclockwise direction. For its length the route has few carries: six type A portages totalling 1.7 km and two type B portages totalling 210 m. Sépaq's obstacle list covers three Class I rapids, one Class II, one Class III, two Class IV, one Class V, a weir and a shallow section; type A portages are the way around rapids of Class III and above. Lac Granet builds strong waves in high wind. Paddling Magazine notes that the loop explores the upper reaches of the Ottawa River.
