The legendary South Nahanni River is Canada's premier wilderness paddling destination, flowing through four spectacular canyons past Virginia Falls (twice the height of Niagara). This Class II-III whitewater adventure features continuous current, challenging rapids in the Rock Gardens, and stunning mountain scenery. The river offers multiple starting points from technical whitewater at Moose Ponds to more moderate sections from Rabbitkettle Lake or Virginia Falls. Access requires expensive float plane charters, and paddlers need solid whitewater skills for this remote 7-21 day expedition through one of the world's largest national parks.
