Cigarette is a 31 km canoe-camping loop in the eastern part of Zec Kipawa, reached from the zec's Témiscaming South entrance in Témiscamingue. Zec Kipawa rates it intermediate and plans three to four days. Paddling Magazine describes a start on Lac des Loups (Wolf Lake) and a counterclockwise direction. From the Lac des Loups river the route crosses Lac Ogascanane, passes through Passe Jaways, Crique de la Cigarette and Lac en Volute, and reaches Lac de la Cigarette and Lac Long. There are three portages: 358 m into Lac Ogascanane, 515 m from Lac de la Cigarette to Lac Long, and a 3,530 m carry from Lac Long back to Lac des Loups, which the zec rates medium. The zec guide highlights white sand beaches and many bald eagles on Lac Ogascanane, and an island farther north with unusual green sand. Register with Zec Kipawa and pay camping fees before you start.
