The Opémican Crescent is a 33 km one-way route in Témiscamingue that joins two access points of Parc national d'Opémican: Baie-Dorval in the Île-aux-Fraises sector and Lac Ravalet, also called Lac Long, in the Pointe-Opémican sector. Accès Plein Air rates it moderate. From Baie-Dorval you thread the island archipelago and cross about 8.5 km of open Lac Kipawa, which is exposed to wind, then turn into Baie Roussel and a chain of small lakes: Star, des Aigles, Croche, Marsac and Ravalet. That last part has four portages of 140 to 290 m and an 870 m stretch where you walk the bank and pull the canoe by rope. A 2023 trip report took three days and found the lightly used portage trails partly overgrown. National park campsites are booked by phone with Sépaq, and Coop de l'Arrière-Pays runs a shuttle back to your car.
