The Nation River in northern BC offers a remote wilderness paddling experience through pristine boreal forest landscape with gentle Class I current suitable for intermediate canoeists. This lesser-known tributary flows through undeveloped country with excellent wildlife viewing opportunities including moose, waterfowl, and various forest species in their natural habitat. The river provides a true northern wilderness experience with minimal human presence and outstanding opportunities for solitude and nature photography. Best season extends from June through August when forest access roads become passable. Access requires significant forestry road travel and careful trip planning due to limited services and remote location.
