Big Crow Lake is an interior lake on the Crow River, reached most directly from the Lake Opeongo access point. From Opeongo's North Arm, a portage of about 1.4 km leads to Proulx Lake, and the Crow River continues through Little Crow Lake to Big Crow. The park advises planning a full day from the Opeongo-Proulx portage. The Big Crow ranger cabin and fire tower were built in 1956, and the tower was one of the last in Ontario used for fire detection, until the mid-1970s. One of the park's last virgin white pine stands is just downstream on the Crow River.
The difficulty of Big Crow Lake varies by section. Whitewater ratings are not exact: grades change with water level and season. Verify current conditions locally before you paddle.
Big Crow Lake is located in the Algonquin Provincial Park region of Canada.
