The Circuit is Canoe Kayak New Brunswick's name for an 800 km canoe loop through the interior of the province, built around three ancient portage trails the association restored. From Little Nictau Lake in Mount Carleton Provincial Park, the western arm runs down the Little Tobique and Tobique to the Saint John, passes Fredericton and Oromocto, then goes upstream on the Jemseg, across Grand Lake and up the Salmon and Gaspereau rivers. An 8.5 km trail crosses to the Cains River, which leads down to the Southwest Miramichi and Beaubears Island. The eastern arm crosses Bathurst Lake and the Nepisiguit Lakes, descends the Nepisiguit, climbs 23 km of Gordon Meadow Brook and takes a 3 km trail to McKay Brook, the Portage River and the Northwest Miramichi. CKNB totals 789.4 km, including 15.7 km of portage, with dams to carry at Tobique Narrows, Beechwood, Mactaquac and Nepisiguit Falls. The full loop takes four to six weeks.
