The Powell Forest Canoe Route (now qathet Canoe Route) on BC's Sunshine Coast is a spectacular 57km wilderness adventure through eight pristine lakes connected by five portages. This moderately challenging route winds through old-growth coastal rainforest and offers stunning mountain views, with portages ranging from 0.7-2.8km. The circuit takes 4-6 days and features excellent camping, crystal-clear lakes, and the unique 'Elephant Graveyard' of ancient tree stumps. Wind can be challenging on large Powell Lake, so early morning paddling is recommended.
