This spectacular wilderness route accesses the legendary Moisie River system via the Carheil and lower Pékans tributaries, offering paddlers a challenging Class III-V whitewater experience through pristine boreal wilderness. The route features dramatic granite canyons, thundering waterfalls, and technical rapids that demand respect, with well-established portage trails for navigation around the most challenging drops. Flowing through 3000-foot deep granite-walled canyons with stunning waterfalls and remote camping opportunities, this is truly expedition-level paddling. Best accessed via the Quebec North Shore & Labrador Railway, the route offers excellent fishing for Atlantic salmon and brook trout.
