The Rivière du Sourd offers a thrilling 48-kilometer whitewater adventure through the Papineau-Labelle Wildlife Reserve, featuring class I to III rapids, waterfalls, and 22 rapids with 13 portages. This challenging multi-day expedition takes paddlers through pristine wilderness with excellent camping at 6 designated sites along the Baie campground area. The river provides technical whitewater suitable for intermediate to advanced canoeists, with best flows during spring and early summer. Access is through the wildlife reserve with shuttle services available and advance reservations required.
