The Bird River is a pristine northeastern Manitoba canoe and kayak route of approximately 200 km flowing from Bird Lake south through dense boreal forest and rocky terrain to the Winnipeg River. This remote intermediate route features clear water, Class I rapids, excellent moose and black bear habitat, and minimal paddler traffic, making it ideal for solitude seekers and wildlife photographers.
