The South Nation River flows 175 km through Eastern Ontario's productive agricultural lands, offering a peaceful paddling experience from Spencerville to the Ottawa River. The route features placid sections alternating with fast-moving water, making it ideal for family canoeing with varying skill requirements. Paddlers enjoy scenic agricultural landscapes, forested shores, and excellent fishing opportunities for pike, walleye, and muskie across 72 fish species. Access is provided through five designated day-long routes by South Nation Conservation, though no overnight camping is available along the river.
