This gentle flatwater journey through Alberta's badlands offers a unique paddling experience with dramatic sandstone cliffs, hoodoos, and rich paleontological history. The 145-kilometer stretch from Drumheller to Dinosaur Provincial Park features easy class I conditions perfect for families, with only sand bars as obstacles. Spectacular badlands scenery unfolds as you paddle past fossil-rich formations, with excellent birding including swallows and raptors. Access is excellent with multiple bridge crossings and campgrounds, though the main shuttle service closed in 2024.
