The Circuit des Mistassins is a renowned 83-90km expedition route on the Mistassini River, representing Quebec's premier wilderness canoe-camping experience and the longest route in La Route Bleue network. This 3-5 day adventure flows through pristine boreal forest landscapes with over 100km of calm water navigation requiring no portages for most of the journey. The route features excellent camping on sandy beaches, spectacular views of Chute Blanche waterfall, and abundant wildlife viewing opportunities including fishing for speckled trout and pike. As Quebec's first expedition-level Route Bleue designation, it offers a complete wilderness immersion experience while remaining accessible to intermediate paddlers, best enjoyed from June through September when conditions are most favorable.
