The Missinaibi River Full Route is a legendary 600 km expedition-class canoe journey in Northern Ontario, flowing from near Chapleau eastward to Michipicoten Harbour on Lake Superior. This demanding multi-week trip features a mix of scenic flatwater lake sections interspersed with Class I-III rapids, numerous waterfalls, and dramatic Canadian Shield canyons. The route traces historic fur trade pathways and offers exceptional wildlife viewing including moose, black bears, and eagles. Best paddled July-September with optimal water levels; requires advanced paddling skills, strong wilderness camping experience, and typically 2-3 weeks commitment.
