The lower 6-mile section from Champlain to the mouth in Coopersville makes for a wonderful and beautiful paddling experience, leaving civilization and snaking through forest and farmland. The current provides just enough push for easy paddling with few hazards and plentiful wildlife, especially for bird watchers.
