Rivière du Sud-Ouest is a gentle tributary flowing through Saint-Mathieu-de-Rioux to the Saint Lawrence, featuring easy paddling with only 2 rapids and 1 portage. This 19.4 km river flows through a relatively flat plateau at 105m elevation, passing through Petit lac Saint-Mathieu and lac de la Station before reaching an impressive 18m waterfall near its mouth at havre du Bic. The slow-flowing waters make it ideal for beginners and families. Access is available from several points including Saint-Fabien village.
