The Bog River Flow offers access to the remote and spectacular Lows Lake through an 11-mile paddle featuring narrow waterways, pristine wilderness, and stunning mountain backdrops. The route includes one portage around the Upper Dam at Hitchins Pond, leading to Lows Lake's expansive waters dotted with over 40 designated campsites on islands and secluded bays. Paddlers enjoy excellent wildlife viewing including loons and eagles, with minimal motorboat traffic due to restrictions. The area serves as a gateway to the Five Ponds Wilderness and can be challenging during windy conditions on the large lake, making it suitable for intermediate paddlers seeking a true wilderness experience.
